Who is Allego?

Founded in 2013, Allego has grown into a leading European charge point operator with a vast network that covers 16 countries. You’ll find their 35,000+ charging points conveniently located near major roads, motorways, and in cities, making it super easy for drivers to charge on the go. Allego's ultra-rapid charging points are also surrounded by amenities, so you can relax while your vehicle powers up.

What sets Allego apart is their commitment to sustainability. Every single one of their charging stations is powered by 100% renewable energy, so you can plug in with a clear conscience!

How much does it cost to charge at an Allego location?

Prices for public charging can vary depending on location and charger speed. Sometimes you will also have to factor in additional costs, like connection and idle fees, or location-dependent costs like parking charges. These costs are either set by the operator or the landowner, so if you have a dispute, contact them directly.

The good news? Allego doesn't charge for connecting or any idle fees*. They do however implement an overstay charge at all of their high-powered charge points, this is aimed at reducing waiting times for other drivers. This cost can vary depending on the country you are charging in but on average it will cost €0.25 per minute.

In the UK the prices at Allego charging stations range from £0.52- £0.84. Across Europe, prices can range from €0.40-€0.95 per kWh depending on which country you are cruising through and what speed you are looking to charge at!

How do you start a charge at an Allego charging location?

We all have our preferred methods of starting a charge. However, there may come a time when you’ve forgotten to bring your Electrocard or your phone runs out of battery meaning the Electroverse app can’t be accessed - what then? Fortunately, you don’t need to worry about either of these things, as Allego has more than one way to get a charge started:

  • Electrocard (RFID)

  • Electroverse app

  • Contactless (select sites)
